The Cross Anthem

By the Lord Himself in pain the cross was carried.
On the cross the Lord was cruelly hanged and nailed;
From the cross the Lord into the earth was buried.
Due to Him the cross was triumphant and hailed.

From the grave in glory Christ, the Lord, is coming,
Crushing the whole Tartar with the cross’s power,
The pagan empire, with its splendour, ’s falling,
Open go the gates of Heaven at this hour!

Thus, the Lord’s to Heaven gloriously risen,
Let the cross be praised in Heaven and on earth!
Christians all together, overwhelming vision:
Risen’s God Almighty, for us a new birth!

Imnul Crucii

Domnul însuşi crucea pe-al său braţ o duse
Şi pe cruce Domnul fost-a răstignit;
De pe cruce Domnul în mormânt se puse
Şi prin însuşi Domnul crucea s-a mărit.

Din mormânt cu fală Domnul Crist învie,
Cu puterea crucii tartarul zdrobind,
Păgânismul cade cu-a sa-mpărăţie,
Crucea biruieşte, cerul deschizând

Şi la ceruri Domnul falnic se ridică,
Crucea este Domnu-n cer şi pe pământ;
Şi creştinii, astăzi, într-un glas răspică:
Înviat-a Domnul, Dumnezeu cel sfânt.
